Brief Description of Group Research Wiki
This type of wiki is used as a means of presentation and project management in group research projects. They do not vary much from the current paradigm of “write down everything you know, edit it, and then present it with illustrations on a large poster”, except that instead of a poster which only has a small amount of space the pupils are given a wiki which can be as large as the pupils wish, as it does not have the constraint of physical space. A group wiki also gives the pupils the chance to collaborate on their project without the need for meeting up face to face outside of class time, which may be difficult for many pupils for geographical reasons, as all the work can be uploaded and edited online from any computer, anywhere on the globe.
This website has been created by Paul Leacy (0744034) in 2011 as part of his Final Year Project in the University of Limerick as part of the (B.Tech. Ed.) course in Materials and Construction Technology.
