Brief Description of "How to" Wiki
This is a
very simple form of wiki that will help your pupils to begin working
collaboratively using this very useful software. It aids the pupils in letting
go of individual ownership as they are not asked to be creative but are instead
simply asked to explain a process or procedure in a concise and effective
manner, using a wiki as a means of presentation. The “how to” wikis that are
created during this type of activity are beneficial for pupils as they give the
pupils a reference point if they are in any doubt as to how to perform the
action or complete the procedure in the future. It will also
introduce the pupils to collaboration in a safe environment where they
contribute (as much or as little as they wish) to a class resource that you may then use to teach the pupils valuable skills in the future or to
recap on the skills of the past.
